Batting practice before the game and a pre-game meeting seemed to really help, as we pulled off an 8-4 victory over Deer Park. It was a good win as everything seemed to go right, minus a few baserunning blunders that seemed to all be Nick's fault. I did good. I crushed the ball in my first AB to centerfield, but it just happened to be caught. Everyone said if my swing would have been level, I could of hit it out. My second AB I grounded into a fielder's choice. I then stole second, moved over to third, and then was caught in between when Nick couldn't make up his mind. My third time up I got on the hard way, taking one to the side.
I've also set a goal for myself. I'm gonna see how many AB's I can go without striking out.

Lit Up Under The Lights
It's hard to say anything at all thats positive about last night, but I'm going to. Yes, we did lose 17-0. Yes, that team looked like a teenage version of the 1927 Yankees. Yes, the umpires were terrible. But, I can still take positive out of this game. We had James and Anthony back. I played all 3 outfield positions, at one point all before the inning started. I swear to everybody on my fly to right, that I missed a homerun by an inch on the bat.
Now to rant. I really hate the schoolball players on the team. They are the prototypical schooolball babies who throw shit and temper tantrums when they don't get a hit or if they don't make a play. I'm sick of seeing it. If they're so good, then they should be above doing that shit and let their talent on the field do the talking rather than the helmet throwing.

First One
Sunday was just an all around great day. We had our first victory of the season with a 12-3 win over Commack. It was finally our turn to run the bases wildly and run up the score. Everybody played well, and the unity on this team is amazing. I feel proud cause I actually can call this team, a team.
As for me at the plate, well I had the best day of the year so far. I went 1-2 with 2 BB's. I reached base all 4 times, one by error; scored 2 runs and even stole 2 bases! I think my swing is finally as perfected as I can get it now, as Nick needed to make one more modification. My knee might be scraped up from sliding, but tis the way of Baseball, little knicks here and there, I'll be fine.
Lindy @ Commack, W 12-3
1-2; 2 BB, 2 SB, 2 runs
Season: 1-7; 4 BB, 5 K, 2 SB, 2 runs

I owe yesterday all to your presence and good luck kiss.

Home Opener
Today we played our first game at Zahn's Park today. The game didn't appear as bad as the boxscore would appear to be. Although we lost 12-3, I feel the team finally found unity. Everybody finally appeared to be going out there and having fun. I like the quick chemistry we've all formed as a team. It also helps when Nick is encouraging all of us to be unified. I like the fact that Nick is only 19-20 years old. He understands what its like to play at this age since it was fairly recent for him and he connects with us better.
Now to break down my AB's. It's first to be noted that before the game, I picked the stance I'm gonna stick with for the season. The first AB was a strikeout, a wash though, just wasn't a good AB. I really think my 2nd AB was the best of the short season. I battled my way to a walk by fouling off pitches and keeping a good eye. The 3rd AB I tried first pitch hacking and almost had it, but fouled it back; then was fooled on a curveball, a good one at that. Overall, although the results haven't been there the first three games in the stats, I feel I'm off to a better start then I was last year.
Lindy vs. West Islip Blue, L 3-12
0-2; 2 K, BB
Season: 0-5, 5 K, 2 BB
-------------------------------------------------------
On a very positive note, I feel so, complete after today, more than ever. Whatever was missing or broken, is definitely filled and fixed and working above and beyond. Our relationship is stronger than ever, and I love it. I've never felt so in love with one person. Its an amazing feeling to feel like you're on top of the world and that nothing can stop you. To feel like this one person who makes you feel this way, for a lack of a better term, completes you. Its just an amazing feeling given to me by an amazing person. I love her so much, I really do.

Get It Over The Plate
The 2nd game of the year brought back memories of last year. We dropped to 0-2 after a 14-3 loss over North Babylon. The score is really deceiving though, as our pitcher's just couldn't throw strikes, and walked a ton of people. They didn't start teeing off until the final inning. I had one AB and played only 2 Innings cause the catcher didn't feel like catching anymore so someone had to come out so we could bring in a new catcher, and it just happened to be me. I K'ed in my only AB, but had a good swing with the new modification to my stance. I think with work on it and just the course of time, it'll all pan out. Gotta remember, didn't get a hit last year or even foul a ball off until the 6th or 7th game last year, so I'm already ahead of last year's pace.

It's to be noted before the game that I decided on my good luck charm. I took my pen's made for writing on skin and other surfaces, and I wrote Lexa on the inside of my glove, and my batting glove. I decided there is no better good luck charm than the thought and name of the person I love the most in this world. I now look into my glove everytime before I take the field and kiss my batting glove where her name is before I go to bat. Whither it affects my season or not, the fact of her presence being in baseball too just makes it all the more fun to play.

Opening Night
Last night kicked off my second summer league season. I personally do not like the new uniforms, but I will make due. I struck out in my first AB, no big deal, got fooled on a curve. 2nd AB just didn't have a good swing. Glad to see I still have the eye at the plate, walking in my last at-bat. It was a sloppy game for both sides, but already this team is much better than last years. I had a bad throw on the first play on defense, but it did no harm this time. I personally did not like the field, the sun was torture in CF.
On a very good note I'm already having more fun on this team this year than I did all of last year. My team actually wants to be a team and act like one. On a bad note, I'm slightly out of shape. Mickey noticed my bat speed is a bit slower than last year cause I've gained a little bit of weight. I guess I'll just work it off over the course of the season.
Lindy @ Babylon, L 5-8
0-2; 2k, BB
Next Game: @ CS Black
It was also great to have Lexa there. Even if she finds cheering awkward, just her presence is good enough for me. First time I'm in a relationship going into a sports season, its good to have her being supportive for me. It's nice to be given a kiss and told "good game baby" after your game. Puts an automatic smile on my face.
